Whether you wish to explore the famous one-horned rhinoceros, visit a sacred temple or experience the traditions of the Naga tribes, this journey offers a wonderful introduction to the region.
Your journey begins in Guwahati, a city known for its spiritual importance and the beautiful Brahmaputra River. After arriving, enjoy a ride on the Guwahati Ropeway and take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the river.
The experience continues with a dinner cruise on the Brahmaputra. It offers a relaxing way to enjoy the river and spend your first evening in Northeast India.
The following morning, visit Kamakhya Temple for Mukh Darshan. Dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya, the temple is located on Nilachal Hill and holds an important place in Hindu traditions.
Guests interested in special darshan must arrange their tickets online independently. The related transfer charges are also payable by the guests.
From Guwahati, travel to Kaziranga, a destination famous for its natural beauty and wildlife.
The Kaziranga Wildlife Tour is one of the highlights of this package. Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. Its landscape includes forests, tall elephant grass, reeds, marshes and shallow pools.
The wildlife experience begins with an elephant ride at the park. After breakfast, visit Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park. The itinerary also includes an outer view of tea gardens and a visit to a rubber plantation.
Later, enjoy a jeep safari in the Central Range of Kaziranga National Park. These experiences offer different ways to explore the region’s natural surroundings.
After Kaziranga, continue your journey to Kohima, the hilly capital of Nagaland. The city is known for its location along the mountain ridges and its connection to the Angami Naga tribe.
A major highlight of this Northeast India Cultural Tour is the Hornbill Festival. Known as the Festival of Festivals, it brings together the cultural traditions of different Naga tribes at one venue.
Visitors can experience traditional songs, dances, local food and customs. The festival also showcases art, handicrafts, music, fashion, literature, adventure and sports.
The itinerary includes visits to the Kohima War Cemetery and State Museum. You will also travel to Khonoma, a picturesque village known for its terraced landscape, village walks, forest walks and environmental initiatives.
The excursion offers an opportunity to learn about the village’s unique culture and heritage while experiencing the warm hospitality of the Western Angamis.
